Many of New York’s early childhood programs have had to close or transition to remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the unprecedented challenges providers are facing as they consider reopening, QUALITYstarsNY developed a multi-part webinar series to support programs with planning and provide resources and information to help programs safely welcome back children and families.

Resource Toolkits

QUALITYstarsNY developed resource toolkits to accompany each session in the Considerations for Reopening series. The Toolkits provide a collection of resources and sample materials developed by QUALITYstarsNY and various government agencies and early childhood organizations to support child care programs with reopening during COVID-19.

Features guidance and resources related to planning, health and safety from the CDC and Caring for our Children, as well as health screening templates.

Includes sample materials and templates to help programs create new policies and procedures related to COVID-19 or amend existing policy documents for parents and staff.

Provides resources to support children and staff transitions back to the program and address their social-emotional needs, as well as a sample “Welcome Back” packet for families.

Offers resources and tip sheets on creating high quality learning environments during COVID-19 and includes a collection of example photos from QUALITYstarsNY participants

Shares information and ideas to address common questions and areas of concern for programs during reopening.
