As New York’s Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), QUALITYstarsNY provides support and resources to improve and sustain high quality early childhood practices across New York State. We believe that all early childhood educators are committed to the young children they work with and are always intrinsically motivated to improve their practice. QUALITYstarsNY exists because early childhood educators across the state deserve the support to engage in continuous quality improvement.

How QUALITYstarsNY Supports New York’s Early Childhood Programs

Programs participating in QUALITYstarsNY receive access to a range of supports and resources, including:

  • Data-driven assessment to inform the creation of a Quality Improvement Plan, developed by the program in partnership with their Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist

  • Individualized guidance and ongoing support from a QI Specialist—a seasoned professional in early childhood education and program management

  • Professional development opportunities and scholarships for staff to pursue higher education degrees, credentials, certificates, and high quality trainings

  • Age-appropriate, high quality furnishings and developmentally-appropriate classroom materials and books

  • And more!
