QUALITYstarsNY has several Quality Standards related to staff trainings that can earn programs points during the rating process. As of April 1, 2022, trainings must be entered into The Aspire Registry for approval in order for programs to earn points for the applicable training Standards.
Programs may still earn points toward their rating for trainings that take place before April 1, 2022 that are not entered as approved events in Aspire, as long as the training occurred within the 15 months prior to Standards Inventory submission. This requirement only applies to any trainings that will take place after April 1, 2022.
Applying Training Toward QUALITYstarsNY Standards in The Aspire Registry
In addition to adding a training event into The Aspire Registry, trainers must indicate the applicable QUALITYstarsNY Standard(s) when creating the course in Aspire. The Aspire team will review the course content and verify if it meets the criteria of the Standard selected during course entry.
Training events for courses approved to meet a QUALITYstarsNY Standard will be reflected in the program’s Qualifications & Experience Report (Q&E Report), which can be accessed in their QUALITYstarsNY Profile.
Trainers conducting a training that applies to a QUALITYstarsNY Standard should follow the new Guide for Creating Training Events in Aspire to Apply to QUALITYstarsNY Standards.

Note for QUALITYstarsNY Participants: If a trainer does not select a QUALITYstarsNY Standard in the Course Entry process, or if your staff’s attendance for a training is not being reflected in your program’s Q&E report after the trainer has updated the event roster, please complete the Program TA Inquiry Form for the Standards Inventory Process for assistance.
