“Our program experienced a comprehensive reevaluation, centering on the creation of environments that embody values of love, respect, and compassion. This encompassed a meticulous review of both our structured and unstructured developmentally appropriate activities, ensuring they align with our core philosophy. We took a close look at our family engagement policies, identifying avenues to involve parents more deeply in our day-to-day routines. This pursuit continues to drive us forward, as we constantly strive to enhance this aspect of our program.
“As educators, we recognize the paramount importance of qualifications and experience. The profound impact of intentionality underscores the necessity of understanding its nuances across all age groups, particularly within the context of a family-based setting. The journey to achieving my Child Development Associate (CDA), bolstered by credit-bearing courses in Early Childhood Education, ignited a desire to pursue a master’s degree. Following a two-year wait, I was finally granted admission into Brooklyn College’s Graduate program for Early Childhood Education. This new chapter promises to be one of continuous self-reflection, reaffirming the significance of authenticity and intentionality in education—values that parallel the foundational principles of nurturing love, fostering respect, and embodying compassion within our field.”
