Laura Sorrentino has been a professional in the early childhood education field since 2003. Her career has included roles as a classroom teacher, administrator, college educator and mentor. Laura’s early years were spent as a teacher working with diverse preschool populations in various daycare and Head Start programs. She then transitioned to an administrative role as the Director and teacher of a college nursery school and UPK program at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. During her 13 year tenure in that role, Laura worked as an advocate for children and families, as well as a mentor and educator of college students at the undergraduate and graduate level. For the 3 years prior to joining QUALITYstarsNY, Laura was the Director of an early childhood education center providing care for children 6 weeks to 5 years old, where she first began working with QUALITYstarsNY as a participating program leader. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from Cornell University, a Master of Science in Early Childhood Education from The College of Saint Rose, and is a NYS certified teacher in Early Childhood, B-2.
