Debra Higginson
North Country
Debra Higginson holds an M.S.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction and a BS in Childhood Education, both from SUNY Potsdam. She has a background in center-based child care, Head Start, and elementary education. Debra worked for several years for the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Early Learning Center, where she discovered her passion for the field of early childhood education. During her tenure there she served as toddler teacher, Head Start teacher, mentor teacher, coach, and education and disabilities coordinator.
Debra is a NYS T-TAP Credentialed Trainer and a CDA PD Specialist. She has served on the steering committee for the Adirondack Birth to Three Alliance since 2019. Debra resides in the north country along the St. Lawrence River with her husband, and occasionally their two young adult children.
