Crystal’s work is grounded in the belief that all humans can make progress on their journey in life if they have a positive relationship in which to explore the world.  Crystal comes to QUALITYstarsNY with over 20 years of experience in the field of early childhood education.  Her experience has primarily been with children ages 0-5 in a variety of early childhood settings, including formal/informal daycare homes, child care centers, Early Head Start, Head Start, and UPK classrooms. She has worked in a variety of roles including Daycare Liaison, Classroom Teacher, Center Director, Education/Disabilities Supervisor, Mentor/Coach, and Specialist. She has also been responsible for volunteer/intern intake, placement, and guidance in the Early Head Start and Head Start Programs. Additionally, Crystal has assisted staff with children who need additional classroom support due to diagnosed and undiagnosed needs, social/emotional delays, and undesirable behaviors. In her roles, Crystal has provided professional development, training, and individualized support to staff to improve child outcomes, enhance the learning environment, and support curriculum implementation and ongoing child assessment. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Annotation from the State University of New York at Oneonta in December 2002. Crystal is also a certified CLASS Infant, Toddler, and Preschool observer, as well as a Council for Professional Recognition CDA PD Observer. Crystal holds a New York State Teacher Certification Birth-Grade 2. In her free time, Crystal likes to be with her family and friends, read, craft, and build things.
