It is with heavy hearts that we share that Mira Berkley, a former member of our QUALITYstarsNY team who retired in 2020, has passed away. Mira was a Quality Improvement Specialist supporting programs in Western New York from 2015 to 2020. Among her countless contributions to our work was the creation of the Quality Improvement Specialist Pipeline Project, which several of our Quality Improvement Specialists participated in before they were hired.
Mira was deeply passionate about quality care for young children and supporting the professionals who care for them. She was a leader not only in her local early childhood education community but across the state and beyond. We will always be grateful to her for that, and so much more. Mira made connections and offered support wherever she went and her impact in early childhood education will be felt for years to come. We honor Mira and her life’s work as a champion for children on behalf of the QUALITYstarsNY team and community.
