QUALITYstarsNY has several Quality Standards related to staff trainings that earn programs points during the rating process.

To earn points toward training Standards:

  1. The training course must be entered into and approved in the Aspire Registry.
  2. The course must be tagged with the applicable QUALITYstarsNY Standard(s) aligned to the training content.
  3. Attendance for the training event must be logged in Aspire.

As of May 2025, QUALITYstarsNY and Aspire have updated the policy for tagging trainings that align to QUALITYstarsNY Standards. A training event must specifically indicate the relevant QUALITYstarsNY Standard(s) for attendees to earn those points in the rating process. Points will no longer be awarded if a course only indicates the New York State Core Body of Knowledge (CBK) core competency area(s) relevant to the training Standard.

We have updated our Help Center article with detailed guidance for how to use the Aspire PD Finder to search for trainings tagged with QUALITYstarsNY Standards and for trainers creating courses aligned to QUALITYstarsNY  Standard(s).

If you have taken trainings aligned with QUALITYstarsNY Standards and do not see those points reflected in your Q&E Report, you must submit a Q&E Report Inquiry Form to correct the issue before submitting your Standards Inventory.
