National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)

NAEYC has set 10 standards for early childhood programs that can help families make the right choice when they are looking for a child care center, preschool, or kindergarten. The standards and criteria are also the foundation of the NAEYC Accreditation system for early childhood programs. To earn accreditation, programs must meet all 10 standards.

National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC)

Office of Children and Families - Child Care Facility Search (NYS but NOT NYC)

Search engine for regulated programs in NYS. This search engine will allow you to look up a specific provider by name, or all the providers in a particular county or even zip code. It also lets you search by different types of care, such as family day care or day care centers. You will see information on the program including contact information, address, capacity, when it first opened and the current status of its license or registration.

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygeine (NYC ONLY)
